I had not read any of the bible before so I decided to start at the beginning and simply read my way through. I found the bible to be so incredibly fascinating. I had heard about parts of the bible before, but never really understood it. I had begun in Genesis and read through to Ezekiel. When I got to the book of Ezekiel, I found myself getting totally confused.

I decided to jump ahead to the New Testament, and read about Jesus. I had heard about Him before and because of Christmas, I really liked Him. I started in the book of John and found His story to be nothing short of amazing. He stood up firmly to the bureaucrats of the time; the Pharisees and Sadducees. He was not afraid of them and was obviously much more intelligent logically and spiritually. One of my favorite stories is when these hypocrites tried to trick Jesus by asking whether the Jews should pay taxes to Ceasar. Jesus asked them for a denarii, one of the coins used at the time. He asked whose image was on the coin. They responded, “Ceasar’s.” And without hesitation Jesus was so clear when He said to them “render unto Ceasar’s what is Ceasar’s and unto God what is God’s.” I loved His response; they had nothing more to say to Him.
