My First Church

The first church I attended.

Grande Prairie Alliance Church

This church was my first spiritual experience in 1981. I found the people very warm and friendly. I found the instruction from the bible to be clear and challenging.

As explained, in the previous section on my testimony, the Ethiopian and the Astronaut, it was through this church and its outreach that I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior.

This is an example of a church that you will want to find to help you in your spiritual journey. It is important that you find a church that:

1. Is committed to the truth of the Bible.
2. Believes that there is one true God in the Universe, the God of the Bible.
3. Believes that there is only one way to God, through His son Jesus Christ.
4. Believes that the church is committed to our Lord’s great commission:

   18 “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  -   Matthew 28:18-20
